Twenty Mobile Phone Makers to Exit the Market
China's Ministry of Information Industry, the government entity that regulates telecommunications and software, is considering removing twenty mobile phone manufacturers from the marketplace in the next three years. China Business Daily reports that under the tentative plans, the MII will determine the minimum scale of a viable business in terms of market share and sales rate, and then conduct periodic review of the industry. Any company falling beneath that scale will be compelled to exit the market.
