US Listed Chinese Companies Roundup: Southern Airlines, China Unicom, China Mobile, Spreadtrum

China Unicom Ltd (NYSE: CHU, SHA: 600050, HKG: 0762) said a national audit of the company and its parent found improper measures and practices that have now been rectified. The check last year by China's National Audit Office founded issues with related-party transactions between the listed company and the parent, procurement procedures, operational management and accounting procedures, the company said in a regulatory filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

China Mobile Ltd (NYSE: CHL, HKG: 0941) said its subscribers totaled 606.15 million including 29.38 million 3G service users by the end of April 2011, up 5.31 million and 2.39 million respectively from a month earlier. Separately, it is on the lookout for acquisition opportunities in emerging markets such as Myanmar, highlighting its ambitions to expand overseas, Reuters reported, citing the company's chairman, Wang Jianzhou. The world's largest mobile operator by market value invested $300 million last year in Pakistan with approximately 100 million mobile phone subscribers.
