Vanke Books ¥2.4b in Earnings through May

China Vanke Co (SHE: 000002) posted a year-on-year 20.9% growth in turnover to the tune of ¥23.9 billion in the first 5 months of the year, the mainland's biggest property developer said Sunday. Floor areas sold from January through May grew 27.4% to 2.8 million m2 compared to the same period in 2008. Vanke also reported it paid ¥2.3 billion for land acquisitions in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, Foshan, Guangdong province, Shenyang, Liaoning province, and Qingdao, Shandong province over the past month.
