Watson's Wine Cellar has received approval from the Ministry of Commerce to form a mainland arm of the company, National Business Daily reports. The brand name first entered the mainland in the form of boutiques opened inside Watson's retail arm, Park'n Shop, in 2004. The establishment of Watson's Wine Cellar (Guangzhou) will permit the company to run freestanding sales outlets for the top-tier international liquor brands it carries. Watson's, an arm of Hutchison Whampoa, is the largest specialty wine retailer in Hong Kong, and expanded into Europe in 2001 through the purchase of Switzerland's Badaracco, a wholesaler and distributor.Link: http://www.nbd.com.cn/admin/module/news/newsFile/200621314145.htm
