China Business Daily reports that the Wuliangye Group will put excess capital into the automotive sector. The company, which has diversified beyond its core liquor business to include food and chemicals, said its plastics subsidiary Push 3D would invest 300 million yuan (US$37 million) to manufacture machine molds and automotive engine parts in Chongqing's Jiulongpo district. An industry insider predicted that since Wuliangye is familiar with the manufacturing sector in Chongqing, it would acquire or partner with automotive parts manufacturers. Push started making molds for the auto industry two years ago when it filled an order for 10 million yuan (US$1.23 million) worth for Chongqing Changan and Japanese auto makers, and since has reached annual production of more than 1 billion yuan (US$123 million), filling orders for Changan, Tianjin Toyota, Chengdu Toyota, and Guangzhou Honda.
