Xieheng plans HK IPO
Xieheng
is preparing to go public in Hong Kong, National Business
Daily reports. According to a
management-level source in the company's East China region, the
cell-phone retail giant has set up a team in Shanghai to coordinate
financial preparations; the source claimed to be a member of this
team. According to the source, preliminary preparations have been
completed for a 2007 listing.
The
office of the president of Xieheng did not deny the reports but
inquired about their source. Previously, Xieheng vice president Chen
Jianbin had denied that Xieheng was planning to go public in Hong
Kong.
The
CEO of Zhongyu Telecom, Xieheng's largest competitor and China's
largest mobile phone retail chain, had previously expressed that his
company was planning a Hong Kong IPO in 2007.
