Xueliang takes ReNu off shelves
Beijing's Xueliang Optical has removed Bausch & Lomb's ReNu contact lens solution from its more than 80 locations, the Beijing Times reports. ReNu, which has had suspected cases of fungal infection in Singapore and Hong Kong, so far has not pulled its products on the Chinese mainland. A Xueliang employee said that the decision to stop selling ReNu was due to the fact that customers are unwilling to buy the product while conditions are still uncertain. Fenghao, another Beijing eyeglass chain, has also reportedly stopped selling Bausch & Lomb contact lens solution, though both chains still carry other B&L products. In a written statement, the company said that it understood the concerns of retailers, but it stressed that the matter was still under investigation, and that there was currently no scientific evidence that ReNu caused the fungal infections.Link: http://bjt.net.cn/news.asp?newsid=139823
