Officially established on April 20th, 2000, China Mobile Communications Corporation has a registered capital of 51.8 billion RMB and assets of over 400 billion RMB. As the leading mobile phone and telecom operator, China Mobile provides mobile and wireless services. As the largest of two mobile telecoms companies operating in China, the company said it added 4.45 million new subscribers in June 2006 while a day after rival China Unicom announced an extra 1.14 million. When 3G market initiates in China, China Mobile will develop 3G subscribers on the existing 2G platforms.
