China Mobile Limited, through its subsidiaries, provides mobile telecommunication and related services in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Its services include local calls, domestic long distance calls, international long distance calls, intra-provincial roaming, inter-provincial roaming, and international roaming. Its voice value-added services include caller identity display, caller restrictions, call waiting, call forwarding, call holding, voice mail, and conference calls. The company's data business comprises short message services, wireless application protocol, and multimedia messaging service, as well as other data products, such as Java Applications, IVR, and PIM. In addition, it provides mobile music services, as well as weather, campus, banking, police, and municipal information service products to corporate customers. As of December 31, 2006, China Mobile served approximately 301 million subscribers. The company, formerly known as China Telecom (Hong Kong) Limited, was founded in 1997. It changed its name to China Mobile (Hong Kong) Limited in 2000 and to China Mobile Limited in 2006. The company is based in Central, Hong Kong. China Mobile Limited is a subsidiary of China Mobile Hong Kong (BVI) Limited.
