Nanchang is the capital and largest city in Jiangxi province in southern China. With a population of over five million, the city's GDP grew 14% to ¥221 billion ($35.1 billion) in 2010. Nanchang is a provincial center for agricultural and industrial production. Its major industries consist of the manufacturer of automobile, metals, electronics and chemicals. Ford has a factory in the city to assemble the Ford Transit van.
