Hebei Province

Hebei's economy is largely dominated by iron and steel manufacturing, as consolidation in the steel industry continues, this is likely to increase.  Despite this strong manufacturing base, over 40% of the population works in the agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry sectors, with a large amount of these crops feeding Beijing and Tianjin. The province plays strategically important role for its giant neighbours, providing an industrial base and transportation hub as well.

Going forward, tighter integration of Beijing, Tianjin and 13 municipalities from Hebei into an economic zone will help promote growth in Hebei, particularly in the areas of high tech manufacturing, logistics and tourism.  Currently, a large amount of transportation infrastructure construction is underway to make this a reality.  Along with helping to promote the province’s economy, this is also likely to create strong growth in Hebei's real estate market.
